safety first

follow this safety acronym guideline to ensure a good fit

TIGHT - The carrier should be snug against your body, with no slack in the fabric. This keeps the baby close and prevents them from slumping.

IN VIEW - You should be able to see your baby's face by simply glancing down.Their face, nose, and mouth should never be covered by the fabric or your body.

CLOSE ENOUGH TO KISS - Baby should be positioned high on your chest so you can easily kiss the top of their head. This ensures they are not too low.

KEEP CHIN OFF CHEST - Ensure there is always a space of at least a finger width under the baby's chin, so their chin is not forced against their chest, which can restrict breathing.

SUPPORTED BACK - The baby's back should be supported in its natural position. They should not be curled or slumped, and their chest and tummy should be against your body.

Here's a quick look at how to get your carrier on and your baby in. An important thing with this carrier is the different options for getting the perfect fit for you and your baby.

  • one

With baby safely laying on a flat surface, adjust the seat adjuster and height adjusters until the panel lays from the top of baby’s shoulders to their bottom

  • two

Place the carrier on your body according to your baby's size clipping it behind your back. The “flip this panel” tag should be touching your body. Tighten until snug.

  • three

Lift the body panel to the top of the baby's shoulders, through their legs. With one hand supporting baby, bring one strap over your shoulder then down and across your back.

  • four

Using the appropriate buckles, attach the strap to the opposite side (left strap to right, and vice versa) listening and feeling for a click. Repeat on the other side.

  • five

Adjust the x to sit between your shoulder blades by first pulling down the centre of your back and across to the buckle to tighten. Make any final adjustments to the seat width and panel height.

How long can I use a stretchy for?

This carrier is great with a newborn, but you might find that once your baby is ready to see more of the world it isn't what you gravitate towards. It is tested up to 25lbs but we find most parents transition out of this carrier at around 3 months.

I'm plus size, will this carrier fit me?

We've made our stretchy wrap with you in mind! We can't say one size fits *all* but it will fit many.

How do I keep my baby's head secure?

Getting a good fit that's high and tight is key for baby's head support. A C-curve in their spine will keep their head from flopping back. Check out our video library for tips.

Will we overheat with all that fabric?

You're definitely going to get warm during your postpartum period, but the natural fibres of a stretchy wrap mean it'll be breathable. Try wearing this carrier skin-to-skin which is good for you both!

  • two

Open the rings and pull the tail over the top ring and under the bottom ring.

  • three

Tighten the sling as much as possible before securing baby in it, using your elbow as a guide. keep the bottom rail a little loose and the top rail snug. the rings should rest at corsage position.

  • four

Place your baby high on the opposite shoulder of the rings. While holding your baby, put your hand through the sling and guide your baby's feet through the pouch.

  • five

Sit baby in the pouch the bottom rail should be behind their knees. While supporting baby with ring side hand, tighten until fabric tension is tight, even and snug across the backs of baby and wearer.

ring sling faq

Can I use a ring sling with a newborn?

Yes! A ring sling is a great newborn carrier. It provides amazing support for their developing bodies without being bulky. It is also great for a postpartum caregiver who may have c-section stitches and a recovering pelvic floor to consider.

Will it cause my shoulder to hurt?

Babywearing shouldn't hurt you. Neck and shoulder pain can sometimes be the result of a poor fit - too tight or too loose. If you're having trouble getting comfy, email us to book a fit check with Kayleigh.

Will my toddler be comfortable?

In our experience, toddlers typically like quick ups. This means that you're not likely carrying your toddler for as long as you did your newborn! A ring sling is quick to get on, quick to get your toddler in, very supportive and packs up small for when they inevitably want to get back down again.
